These are step by step tips on the installation of our pre-wired German attic fan.
REPLACING AN EXISTING HOME STORE FAN WITH OUR SYSTEM:
This is an existing burned out home store fan mounted on a pitched shingle roof.
Disconnect the power source at the breaker panel and cut out the old motor as seen above
The tool of choice for this job is a cordless sawzall. If you don't have one, buy or borrow one.
Old fan and mount gone, new Aura vent ready to be installed
Make the new opening for the 14" fan at least 16" (round hole), so the new 16" vents fits
Using a Sawzall with a 6" metal cutting blade, cut off the staples or nails under the shingles
Slide the new Aura vent under the shingles. This is why the nails/staples need to be sheared off
Here is the finished installation of the Aura vent with the fan mounted under it
